FAQ FAQ
FAQ
What kind of drone will I be flying?
First off, we welcome students to bring their own registered drone - but if you’d prefer to fly our instructor’s drone, it will depend on which models our instructor prefers to fly. Almost all of our instructors fly a DJI Mavic, DJI Inspire, or DJI Phantom model. If there’s any specific model that you’d prefer to fly, just let us know!
Do I need to have my Part 107 certification?
No. Our instructors have already taken the time to pass their Part 107 Exam and received FAA certification, so you don’t have to. If that’s something that interests you, please let us know or visit our Part 107 Prep Course page here.
What if it rains?
This happens - our instructors haven’t yet attained the ability to control the weather, and nor have we. Having said that, we’ll work with you to reschedule to a time that fits your schedule.
What if I’m buying the course for somebody else as a gift?
You should! Our course provides a great opportunity to brighten someone’s day - just email us at info@sumosolutions.vn, and we’ll take it from there.
Can I sign up with a group?
We’re happy to accommodate groups! Please click here to fill out the form here and make it clear that you’re looking for group training - this usually requires some extra planning to ensure that everybody gets their fair share of stick time, but we’ll work with you and our instructors to make sure that happens.
In-Person Training In-Person Training
In-Person Training
While we’re happy to go over any topics that you specifically want to learn about, our in-person training sessions are focused on giving you the opportunity to get your hands on a drone. By the end of the training session, you should feel comfortable and confident maneuvering an sUAS. Our lesson plans are jam-packed, and include topics such as pre-flight inspection, equipment familiarity, intelligent flight modes, as well as actually taking pictures and videos.
On-the-Job Training On-the-Job Training
On-the-Job Training
We recognize the need to satisfy your curiosity around drones - one of the most common questions we get is around what an average day "on the job" looks like for a drone pilot. We're here to help you answer that question. In our "On-the-Job" training, we'll send you out with one of our FAA-certified drone pilots to a work site, where you can shadow the pilot, get some basic drone exposure, and receive some drone maneuvering training. If you're interested, let us know and we will contact you when opportunities around you come up!
